Brian Smith is a leading patent trial attorney with more than 20-years’ experience practicing in both California and Texas. Mr. Smith has represented numerous prominent clients in complicated patent cases involving a wide variety of technologies including software, computer circuitry, biotechnology and mechanics. His practice also includes complex business litigation including antitrust, unfair competition and trade secret. Brian has served as primary and co-lead counsel in a number of trials and cases in many jurisdictions including California, Texas, Virginia, Delaware, Illinois and Florida. Brian graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Economics, and received his JD from the University of Minnesota Law School. He was previously a partner with the Townsend and Howrey firms. Brian has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer in Intellectual Property Litigation every year since 2013.

Alden Lee represents established and emerging companies in high stakes patent litigation covering various technologies, including wireless communications, computer security, and data transmission technologies. He is experienced in litigating and obtaining favorable outcomes for clients in many jurisdictions throughout the country, including California, Delaware, Texas, Florida, and Virginia. Alden holds a B.S. in computer engineering from UC Davis and a JD from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He began his legal career as an intern in the Technology Transfer Office at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta conducting patentability and market analyses. After law school, he joined Howrey as a patent litigation attorney focusing on display, fingerprint scanning, and CMOS sensor technologies.

Jeffrey Chen is an accomplished intellectual property litigator who focuses his practice on high-stakes patent infringement disputes.  With extensive experience litigating patent cases nationwide, Jeff is versed in all phases of patent litigation and has served as a key member of several patent trial teams.  Additionally, Jeff assists his clients with enforcing their trademarks, protecting their trade secrets, and resolving contract disputes.  Jeff graduated with a B.A. in Biology from the University of Texas and earned his JD from Santa Clara University School of Law.  During law school, Jeff developed an interest in intellectual property law while working as a legal intern at Avaya, Inc.  He later honed his litigation skills as an associate with Reed Smith.  In 2016 and 2017, Jeff was named a Northern California Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in Intellectual Property Litigation.

Joseph Fraresso specializes in high tech patent litigation and analysis, as well as commercial disputes. He has obtained favorable results for clients in federal courts throughout the country, including the Eastern District of Virginia, Northern District of California, District of Delaware, and Eastern District of Texas. He graduated with honors in electrical engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, and received his J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Canada. In addition to litigating patent cases, Joe has helped clients secure patent rights in Canada and the United States, and uses his technical expertise to analyze and advise clients on patent strength and validity. He is admitted to the bar in California and Ontario, Canada and is a registered Canadian Patent Agent.
