Tiffany teaches Mock Trial as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University School of Law and has coached teams competing in national competitions, such as the San Diego Defense Lawyers Mock Trial Competition and the McGeorge National Ethics Trial Competition.

Tiffany is member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and served as a Pathfinder for the program in 2016.


Tiffany Hansen is a civil litigator with particular expertise in commercial, intellectual property, and employment litigation. She has served as counsel in cases involving contract disputes, partnership disputes, unfair business practices, trademark disputes, and FEHA-based employment disputes, among others. Tiffany has successfully represented clients at the trial and appellate levels in both federal and state courts as well as in arbitration and has experience in all facets of litigation, including drafting pleadings and motions, managing complex discovery issues, strategizing for depositions and hearings, managing pretrial tasks, and conducting trials and arbitrations.

Before joining Bartko Zankel Bunzel & Miller, Tiffany was an associate at the litigation boutique firm of LTL Attorneys LLP where she represented both businesses and individuals in a wide array of intellectual property, commercial, and employment disputes.

Tiffany graduated with Honors (finished in the top 6% of her class) from Golden Gate University School of Law, where she received her J.D. with a Certificate of Specialization in Litigation. During law school, Tiffany excelled in litigation and trial advocacy, leading her mock trial teams to several final and semi-final placements, including taking first place in the prestigious San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association Mock Trial Competition. Tiffany graduated from Washington State University with a double major in Communications and Sociology.

Tiffany was named a “Rising Star” by Northern California Super Lawyers in 2018.

Representative Matters

Co-chair of appellate team defending Pinkette Clothing, Inc. against Ninth Circuit appeal by Cosmetic Warriors, Ltd. regarding the LUSH trademark.

Obtained full defense verdict as co-chair of trial team representing Pinkette Clothing, Inc. against Cosmetic Warriors, Ltd. regarding alleged infringement of the LUSH trademark.

Counsel for Kaiser Permanente in multiple employment disputes, including co-chair of trial team representing Kaiser against wrongful termination and retaliation claims.

Counsel to Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. in multiple employment disputes.

Obtained full defense verdict as second-chair of arbitration team representing leading flash memory storage device and software manufacturer against claims of unfair competition by former distributor.

Counsel to Symantec Corporation in suit regarding fraudulent transfer of patent portfolio.

Trademark enforcement counsel for leading computer network hardware manufacturer, including several matters under ICANN’s Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy.

Member of trial team representing Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences against GoDaddy, LLC in lawsuit involving violations of the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act.

Lead associate on litigation team representing successful brand development, marketing, advertising and creative media company in commercial dispute against one of the largest natural consumer packaged food companies in the United States in federal commercial dispute for fraud and breach of contract.

Member of litigation team representing leading fabric retailer in trademark infringement dispute – obtained favorable settlement on the eve of trial.

Counsel to Sephora and Solazyme, Inc. in lawsuit involving breach of joint venture and trade secret misappropriation for algae-based skincare product.

Obtained favorable settlement for celebrity chef in case involving claims of breach of joint venture and commercial misappropriation of name/likeness.

Obtained favorable settlement for Chinese swimwear company in commercial dispute related to unpaid goods.

Utilized Hague Convention on Taking Evidence Abroad to obtain critical discovery from India in breach of contract matter.
